Located in the Heart of the Loire Valley
'Domaine de la Paleine'
For over a century the 'Domaine de la Paleine' has been producing wines from Saumur at the Puy Notre Dame. Four years ago, Laurence & Marc Vincent, fell in love with the Loire Valley and took over the running of the estate.
The wine cellars run for over one mile underneath the tuffeau soil, an easy-draining limestone soil, these cellars retain a constant temperature of 12°, making them an ideal location to lie down more than 100,000 bottles of vintage wines from the AOC Saumur appellation.

The Vines
Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc vines make up the majority of the 32 hectares of the vineyard.
Leaving the grass to grow between the vines encourages her roots to grow deep into the chalky soil, exceptional chalky, the soil acts as a sponge retaining surplus water in the winter, and during the hot summer months allows the vine to feed herself as her fruit grow.
It is this action that gives the wines of 'Domaine de la Paleine' their unique character: full bodied, yet subtle and fruity.
